Hey, welcome to my website.

This website is structured as a digital garden.[1]

A collection of essays, notes, and half-baked explorations I'm always tending to.

- Maggie Appleton[2]

You have my promise that AI tools will exclusively be used for decorative images, like the above, and never for content writing, editing, or anything else in this garden.

Who I am

I'm Joe Howard, a Texan gardener, coder, maker, hacker, and banjo-player.

What this is

This plot of land is where I raise ideas from small to large without having to button up my thoughts into an SEO-compatible package, or really, to even fully formulate them. While publish dates will be made available, this website is not ordered chronologically.

I may at some point utilize a thought maturity system, meant to display how developed a thought is, much like the Hermitage[3] garden or Maggie Appleton's garden[4].

As you navigate through the site, you will see a graph of nodes connecting my thoughts together. Each of these is a thought that you can go and read.

Where to start

Well, I don't have much here yet. That will come with time. But part of transitioning to this style of website is to allow me to much more easily get my thoughts down and learn in public.

For now, check out websites I find inspiring, or my first attempt at reclaiming my data from my smart hydroponic garden.

Thanks for visiting.
